With the Harbour Regatta coming up very soon, this weeks match was switched to Bathurst Basin as Baltic Wharf is full of boats. This area of the docks hardly ever gets fished and is out of the main flow of the docks, so the first match for 6 months was never going to be great, as no bait has gone in. The clear water and bright and breezy conditions made the fishing tough.

Top rod on the night was Andy Curry, not Currie, with 9lb 10oz which consisted of 1 bream and some roach, caught on a 10m pole using groundbait and maggot, recently a lot of the regulars have been using a feeder at Baltic Wharf, but this approach doesnt work at Bathurst.

Second on the night was Rupert Garner with 8lb 12oz of roach and dace, feeding maggot and groundbait, from end peg 1. Third place went to Dave Clutterbuck, following up his win from last week, with 6lb 7oz of roach and dace, from lucky peg 13. Fourth was Pete Ellis with 5lb 10oz of roach and dace, and no bream using maggot and groundbait.

Merv Sivell was 5th with 5lb 3oz and John Macey was 6th with 3lb 15oz. This is not the best area of the Docks for bream, they prefer the wide open areas of the docks, not the enclosed basin areas.
