Daves Dozen, Easter Weekend
The Easter weekend match was spoilt by dirty water and cold northerly winds. Easter weekend is a busy time on the docks, lots of boats entering and leaving the harbour, combined with some of the highest spring tides of the year meant the water had had a good influx of brackish sea water, so the recent good weights couldnt be repeated.
This didnt stop Pete Sivell continuing his good recent form to win again with 15lb 4oz of bream and skimmers on a bread feeder, with red maggot on the hook. Second was Rob Garland from the next peg with 14lb 0oz, a similar mix of fish. Dave Clutterbuck had 8lb 12oz for third, caught on the pole, made up of skimmers and roach on maggot over groundbait. Alan Healey was fourth with 6lb 0oz on the bread feeder and Adam Caswell caught 4lb 14oz for fifth. Merv Sivell kept the family flag flying with 4lb 1oz for 6th.
Next weeks match should be back to normal as the spring tides will have finished and the weather forecast is for the northerly winds to swing south westerly, this will get the skimmers feeding again.
