Daiwa

Daiwa first started making reels back in 1955 and it has grown into an international brand, selling rods, reels, poles and a large range of luggage, clothing and accessories. The company was founded by Yoshio Matsui who is a really keen angler, his high standards has produced a range of tackle that is famous all over the world. These high Japanese standards make Daiwa tackle some of the most technically advanced in the world and the same ethos that started the company 60 years ago is still the same today.

Daiwa are now world leaders in Carp, Match, Coarse, Sea and Predator fishing tackle, they have offices all over the world including Glasgow, Taiwan, Japan, Los Angeles and Australia. Across the globe Daiwa have expanded into cycling, golf and tennis but they have never forgotten their roots which is manufacturing top quality fishing tackle. Daiwa now trade under the global name of Globeride.

Daiwa Sports set up its first UK office back in 1977 at Wishaw in Scotland, where it is still today. From these premises they manufacture a lot of their higher priced rods and poles to supply the UK and European customers. Famous products such as Basia, Infinity, Longbow, Whisker, Air, Tournament, Airity, Connoisseur, Castizm and Powermesh ranges of rods and poles are manufactured in their Scottish premises.
