ESP Terry Hearn mk3 Carp Rods, these rods have been designed and extensively field tested by Terry himself, Terry sets very high standards before he ail put his name to anything. The blanks he's chosen is made from the latest space age high modulus carbon that has been reinforced with a tough and durable overwrap that gives a very nice looking finish to the blanks.
ESP Terry Hearn Classic 12' 9" 3.25lb (fitted with a 50mm butt ring)
This 'Classic' rod is Terrys favourite fishing rod, it is a rod for the purist and can be used in most fishing situations. Its 12ft 9 inches long and this is Terrys preferred length ias he can cast over 100 metres with great accuracy using a wide range of different lead sizes. This rod has a superb fish playing action, no hook pulls at the net with this rod, its a real pleasure to fish with.
Terry has chosen single leg SIC guides because they give an improved balance and the action of the rod could not be better, these rings also give a significant weight saving. The ring positioning means the line follows the same action as the rod, the butt ring is 50mm and the size steadily reduces to a 12mm tip ring. Terrys chose of handle is a slim full length EVA handle that has been finished off with a stainless butt cap and a moulded line clip. The reel seat is a Fuji DPS with a flared collar above it.

This rod is similar to the Classic model above, except it has a 3.5lb test curve, the extra power gives extreme casting distances and a much stiffer butt section. These rods are capable of casting 150m plus, using a wide variety of lead sizes, it can also cast large PVA bags with ease. Any rod that can cast this far always has the danger of hook pulls when playing the fish, but Terry has designed this rod so that there is plenty of shock absorption in the tip section to prevent them. The rod has a 50mm butt ring to maximise the distance you can cast and the rest of the rings taper down to a 16mm tip ring.
