Gardner Tackle was first formed in 1980 with the aim of developing new products every year to match the changing behaviour of fish in our pressured waters, they try and keep one step ahead of the fish. A recent example of this is the Ronnie Rig, Gardner Tackle were the first company to make these devastating rigs available to the public and they couldn't keep up with demand.

The company was originally formed by Richard Gardner, a brilliant angler who loves to catch BIG carp. His aim was always to produce new and exciting products to put more big fat carp on the bank for the people who used his gear. Richard has built up a great reputation, in the last 30 odd years, for producers of quality tackle, they were one of the first UK tackle companies to focus purely on selling carp tackle. I can remember back in the late 1980's when every carp angler in the country seemed to be fishing with Gardner bank sticks, this was in the days before rod pods became popular.

Gardner Tackle remains to this day a family run business, Richard's wife Michelle does the day to day running of the business as the company gets past from one generation to the next, its in the blood and everyone works non stop to produce the best carp tackle they can. Gardner tackle have a dedicated carp team in the UK who help design and develop new items of carp fishing tackle, they also have a team who work on other species of tackle, such as barbel, and Gardner Tackle are a leading brand in the specialist specimen tackle, as well. Gardner also have similar teams of anglers in France, Italy, Benellux, Spain and Germany. They are a true european brand who's range of carp tackle can catch fish up to 100lb in some of the big european waters or equally at home over here catching doubles on 'runs' waters.

The Gardner Tackle website has a dedicated blog where anglers can post reviews of fisheries, carp tackle as well leaving tips and tricks on catching more and bigger fish. They also have a tackle TV series which gives brilliant product demonstrations and top tips from some of Europe's top anglers, its well worth a visit.

Recently Gardner has expanded into Japan, making it a real International company, their range of tackle and hooks has been well received.
